Christmas Gifts for Teenage Boys
As the mother of 4 boys I get asked about this a lot. How do you buy Christmas gifts for teenage boys when there is so much to choose from?!
Well, there are lots of generic gift ideas that they will definitely appreciate. Especially if it’s something they can eat or make use of!! They will also always appreciate something that relates to their interests and hobbies. So, have a chat and ask them, ‘what are you ‘into’ at the moment?’
6 Christmas Gifts for Teenage Boys
This might seem a bit odd, but we have bought all four of our sons’ wallets for Christmas in recent years. They like them and use them. However, we haven’t gone for generic bog standard ones, we’ve chosen wallets that reflect their interests. An anime wallet, Dr Who, a gaming wallet.. You get the drift! Menkind have a brilliant range of novelty wallets for all interests!
Here are some ideas from the Menkind site:
Our boys love video games, this year FIFA 18 and call of Duty WW2 are on the list, but that’s not to everyone’s tastes. Game really is your best bet. A one stop shop for all gaming paraphernalia; games for all platforms, accessories, books, merchandise, they have it all. Plus if you’re really stuck you could always go for a voucher!
Now the boys are older they are particularly interested in what they smell like! So aftershave is always a winner. At the moment our boys quite like Armani Code, Paco Rabanne Millions, Jean Paul Gaultier, some of the Calvin Klein aftershaves and Hugo Boss.
Fragrance Direct have some great half price and gift set offers on at the moment and they are also offering free delivery on orders over £20
Subscriptions are something that you may well haven’t thought about… But they make a great gift. My boys use Spotify, Xbox live, Playstation Plus, Netflix and Apple Music. These are services where you can buy a subscription for anywhere between a month and a year. This will give them access to either TV and Films, music streaming and downloads and online gaming. There is also Sky Sports and Movies monthly subscriptions available through Now TV.
As the boys are getting the older the cost of these services fall to them, we don’t pay for them, and I know that if they receive them as a gift they love it, because it’s something they will definitely use.
Pants and Socks
Seriously, they do actually like these, but they are a bit picky and ideally prefer something either novelty or designer depending on their tastes! For pants always, always go trunks, never boxers or briefs! John Lewis has a good range of designer trunks. Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss and Diesel never get grumbled at. Next have a nice range of novelty pants that wash well and are comfy!
Socks wise generally anything goes, designer, novelty, plain, they all get used!
There are quite a few reasonably priced ‘tech’ related presents that teenage boys will appreciate. A decent phone case is always a good one, because whilst they don’t want to damage their phone they are reluctant to shell out for a case. Tech21 phone cases are brilliant! I have lost track how often I have dropped my phone on all sorts of surfaces and not so much as a scratch on the screen! They also are always keen on headphones, particularly if they have a mic and they can use them whilst they are on the phone. Amazon as ever have a cracking range of options for all budgets. Finally, they will always appreciate a decent powerbank so that when they are out about they are never without charge on their phone or devices. Tech Advisor have some great advice and reviews for powerbanks and all things Tech!
I hope that gives you some ideas, buying for young men can be a bit tough!
